Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Critical Infrastructure Mechanical Engineer, Field Engineering, to support AWS Data Centers from design through turnover. You will troubleshoot failures, perform RCA, develop upgrades, and collaborate with operations, design, and safety teams to improve availability and efficiency.

Ideal candidates will drive innovative solutions across regions, lead audits, and work in a mix of office and field settings, ensuring safety and reliability at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Valid USA driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, perform RCA, and create CA documentation for site/equipment failures.
• Support operational issues with ad-hoc training and SOP reviews.
• Own conceptual design for data center upgrades to add capacity and efficiency.
• Interface with operations, design, server hardware, and safety teams to promote standards.
• Develop innovative solutions for AWS data centers.
• Work on concurrent projects across multiple regions.
• Initiate and lead engineering audits; produce risk reports with mitigations.
• Act as resident engineer during new construction, support commissioning and turnover.
