Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Critical Infrastructure Mechanical Engineer, Field Engineering in Benton, LA to support AWS data centers from design through site improvements and operation. You will be the go-to engineering resource for the region, troubleshooting equipment, guiding upgrades, and coordinating with operations, design, and safety teams.

Responsibilities include leading audits, conducting RCA/CA documentation, and driving conceptual designs to improve capacity, availability, and energy

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 3+ years of experience in industrial, municipal, or commercial engineering.
• Must have a valid US driver's license and reliable transportation to start date.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and create Corrective Action (CA) documentation for site/equipment failures.
• Directly support operational issues with ad-hoc training and complex operating procedure reviews, including critical equipment and event support.
• Own conceptual design for existing data center upgrades and design-solutions to add capacity, improve availability, and increase efficiency.
• Interface with internal data center operations, data center design engineering, server hardware, and EHS teams to promote standards for reliability.
• Develop innovative solutions for AWS data centers and work on concurrent projects across regions.
• Initiate and lead engineering audits, on-site visits, and produce risk reports with mitigations and remediations.
• Act as resident engineer during new construction projects, supporting construction, commissioning, and turnover.
