Job summary

U.S. Bank seeks an experienced Credit Analyst to approve or deny credit extensions and to advise lending decision makers based on comprehensive credit analyses.

You will gather, interpret, and synthesize credit information for existing and prospective customers, identify risks, and support risk‑aware actions across portfolios. The role requires strong analytical skills, a background in economics/finance, and proficient report writing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Typically five or more years of relevant experience.
• Strong credit analysis and analytical skills are required.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Approve extension of credit and make recommendations to final lending decisions.
• Conduct complete credit analyses using information on existing and prospective customers.
• Identify credit quality issues in customer accounts and portfolios to maximize quality and minimize risk.
• Utilize software tools to support credit analysis and decision making.
