Job summary

U.S. Bank in Brookfield, CT is seeking a Credit Analyst to evaluate and authorize credit extensions for new, renewal, and extended loans. You will gather and analyze credit information, assess risk, and prepare detailed recommendations for final lending decisions.

The role requires strong credit analysis abilities, knowledge of credit policy, and excellent written and verbal communication. A four-year degree and relevant experience are expected, with CPA or MBA as a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience.
• Typically four or more years of relevant experience.
• Strong credit analysis and analytical skills.
• Thorough knowledge of credit analysis, credit administration, credit policy and procedures, and risk analysis.
• Background in economics, accounting, and/or finance.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages.
• Master’s degree or CPA certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Approve the extension of credit and/or make recommendations to the lending decision makers.
• Conduct a complete credit analysis by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting credit information.
• Review customer accounts and portfolios to identify and mitigate credit quality issues and minimize risk.
• Utilize tools and software to assess credit scenarios and support recommendations.
