Job summary

Sunflower Bank, N.A. in Irvine, CA is seeking a Credit Underwriter III - CRE to analyze financial information and assess creditworthiness of commercial borrowers.

This role focuses on moderately complex relationships and supports loan teams to maximize credit quality. You will review financial statements, prepare detailed credit reports, and collaborate with bankers, expanding expertise in commercial real estate underwriting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, or similar field.
• 7+ years of experience in credit analysis/credit underwriting in a commercial real estate lending environment.
• Must possess sound underwriting in areas of investor commercial real estate.
• Experience with construction and bridge lending is a plus.
• Must possess proven ability to understand and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow, and tax returns.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must possess strong business math skills.
• Must possess proven ability to think critically and communicate results concisely and clearly, both verbally and in writing.
• Must possess ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze financial and credit information to determine cashflow and creditworthiness for borrowers and guarantors.
• Prepare detailed financial and analytical credit approval and loan review reports using leases, rent rolls, appraisals, environmental reports.
• Research industry and market information relevant to collateral location.
• Prepare written summaries of analysis for new and existing loan relationships.
