Job summary

Columbia Bank in Irvine, CA seeks an experienced CRE underwriter to assess complex commercial real estate loans and prepare credit presentations for senior credit approvals. You will underwrite sponsors’ contingent debt, analyze cash flows, and monitor borrower performance to ensure timely decisions.

In collaboration with Relationship Managers and Analysts, you will identify credit risks, apply bank policies, and support relationship growth with developers and investors while maintaining

Qualifications

7–10 years of commercial underwriting/credit analysis experience.
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
Advanced credit and credit quality skills including cash flow analysis.
Proficiency with Excel and Word.
Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

Underwrites and prepares credit presentations for complex CRE loans.
Assists RMs in monitoring a large CRE loan portfolio.
Analyzes appraisal and market data to assess market risk.
Identifies and mitigates bank policy exceptions and underwriting deviations.
Collaborates with Analysts and RMs to communicate credit risk.
Coaches or trains others as subject matter expert.
