Job summary

EDF power solutions North America is seeking a Senior Counsel to lead negotiations and provide expert legal input across renewables projects, including wind, solar, storage, and transmission initiatives. Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate or equivalent and bar admission in one or more NA jurisdictions.
• Typically 10+ years of legal experience in a law firm and/or in-house.
• Experience drafting, negotiating and providing critical review of project, financing and M&A agreements.
• Experience with renewable energy contracts and joint ventures is preferred.
• Experience overseeing outside counsel and managing budgets.

Responsibilities

• Leads negotiations, drafting and review of commercial contracts, M&A agreements, and related documents.
• Supports project development, permitting, and regulatory strategy for energy projects.
• Provides strategic legal input to cross-functional teams and regulatory compliance.
• Develops training and improves legal processes; may supervise junior staff.
• Advises on corporate governance, project finance, and risk management.
