Job summary

Turner & Townsend in San Francisco is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to lead cost management across a diverse portfolio of projects. This client-facing role requires excellent communication, stakeholder management, and the ability to deliver cost plans, value engineering, and robust change control through the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field.
• 5–7 years of relevant cost management experience in construction.
• RICS accreditation or active pursuit.
• Experience leading cost management on medium to large, high‑complexity projects.
• Construction consultancy experience strongly preferred.
• Good knowledge of procurement routes, value management and value engineering.

Responsibilities

• Estimate and negotiate change orders throughout the construction lifecycle.
• Provide cost planning and final cost plan preparation.
• Review estimates with design teams and general contractors.
• Reconcile changes and ensure data accuracy with the GC.
• Prepare cost estimate updates with project managers and owners.
• Coordinate cost information from NPAs, subs, and A/Es.
• Drive engineering priorities based on cost impact.
• Manage cost checks and valuations on large projects.
• Support change control and post‑contract cost variances.
• Prepare monthly cost reports for the client.
• Negotiate final accounts timely and accurately.
