Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to support a diverse portfolio of projects across the Seattle region. This client-facing role will deliver cost management, quantity surveying, and commercial advisory services across a range of construction projects while ensuring client objectives are achieved throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or field related to construction.
• Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in cost management within construction.
• RICS accreditation preferred or working towards it.
• Experience leading cost management on medium to large, complex construction projects.
• Construction consultancy experience is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of procurement routes, value management and value engineering.

Responsibilities

• Estimating and negotiating change orders throughout the construction lifecycle.
• Provide estimate and cost planning, including presenting the final cost plan.
• Review with design services team and general contractor to develop cost estimates.
• Reconcile changes and ensure data accuracy for contractors.
• Prepare cost updates and executive summaries for stakeholders.
• Coordinate all sources of cost information from NPA, subs, and A/Es.
• Inform and drive engineering priorities based on cost impact.
• Manage cost checks and valuations on larger projects with timely reporting.
• Address post-contract cost variances and change control processes.
• Develop cost plans through design milestones and support value engineering.
• Review contractor/subcontractor pricing and negotiate on behalf of the client.
• Produce monthly cost reports and ensure final accounts are negotiated.
• Mentor and coach talent to realize potential and drive outcomes.
