Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to join our Bay Area team. You will support cost consultancy, project management, and program management across large-scale construction and real estate projects in the San Francisco area.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in cost management, a relevant degree, and solid experience coordinating with clients, consultants, and contractors to drive value, mitigate risks, and ensure profitable delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of cost management experience in construction.
• RICS accreditation preferred.
• Experience supporting cost management on medium or large-scale projects.
• Experience with commercial real estate, corporate workplaces, life sciences, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on cost strategies, review vendor proposals, and chair bid interviews.
• Develop project estimates covering construction, fees, and direct costs.
• Prepare and present cost reports and forecasts to clients.
• Track commercial risk, manage change orders, and verify payments.
• Lead post-contract reviews and capture lessons learned.
• Ensure SOX controls compliance where applicable.
