Job summary

The Planet Group in Manor, Texas, is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to support its growing manufacturing operation. This fully onsite role partners with finance and plant leadership to manage cost accounting, inventory, standard costs, variance analysis and the month-end close.

The successful candidate will analyze manufacturing costs, review production variances, reconcile inventory and GL accounts, and provide actionable financial insights to drive cost improvements.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of cost-accounting experience within manufacturing.
• Standard costing
• Manufacturing variance analysis
• Inventory accounting and inventory valuation
• Month-end cost-accounting close
• Strong general-ledger and reconciliation knowledge
• ERP experience
• Ability to partner directly with plant/operations leadership
• Strong Excel and analytical skills

Responsibilities

• Maintain and analyze manufacturing costs and variances.
• Support inventory valuation and standard costs.
• Perform cost-accounting close activities and reconcile related GL accounts.
• Provide financial analysis to operational leadership and identify cost drivers.
