Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for a growing, fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will lead the month-end close, provide regional accounting support, and deliver management reporting and analyses.

The ideal candidate has a CPA, at least 5 years of hands-on accounting experience, deep GAAP knowledge, and strong Excel skills. You will collaborate with plant personnel and regional leadership to ensure accurate recording and timely financial insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA certification.
• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and month-end close experience.
• Proficient in Excel with advanced functions.
• Ability to work independently with tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide accounting support for regional operations and multiple plant locations.
• Play a significant role in the month-end close process.
• Prepare and maintain monthly accruals across multiple plant operations.
• Partner with plant personnel to ensure transactions are accurately recorded.
• Work closely with regional management to analyze operating results.
• Prepare timely and accurate management reports.
• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Conduct standard and ad-hoc financial analysis.
• Identify and recommend process improvements that increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Support internal and external audit requests.
• Develop a strong understanding of the business and its operations.
• Monitor compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
