Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join their team in Plano, TX. This hybrid role involves overseeing the fiscal close and managing cost accounting for three plants, ensuring accurate inventory valuation and product costing.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field and 3+ years of cost accounting experience in manufacturing. You will partner with operations and finance leadership to drive strategic decisions and enhance cost visibility.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience, including cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of inventory accounting, standard costing, and manufacturing variances.
• Experience supporting month-end close and financial reporting processes.

Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing variances including labor, material, overhead, and production efficiency.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities related to cost of goods sold.
