Job summary

The Planet Group in Manor, Texas, is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to support its growing manufacturing operation. This fully onsite role partners with finance and plant leadership to manage cost accounting, inventory, standard costs, variance analysis and the month-end close.

The successful candidate will analyze manufacturing costs, review production variances, reconcile inventory and GL accounts, and provide actionable financial insights to drive cost improvements.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of cost-accounting experience within manufacturing.
• Standard costing

• Strong general-ledger and reconciliation knowledge
• ERP experience
• Ability to partner directly with plant/operations leadership
• Strong Excel and analytical skills

This fully onsite position will partner closely with finance and plant leadership to support manufacturing cost accounting, inventory, standard costs, variance analysis and month-end close.

Responsibilities will include maintaining and analyzing manufacturing costs, supporting inventory valuation, reviewing production and purchase variances, performing cost-accounting close activities, reconciling inventory and related general-ledger accounts and providing financial analysis to operational leadership.

The successful candidate will bring strong manufacturing accounting fundamentals along with the curiosity and analytical ability to identify cost drivers, investigate issues and improve processes.
