Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant for a manufacturing organization in Texas. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, at least three years of cost/inventory accounting experience, and advanced Excel skills.

The role involves establishing standard costs, updating cost systems, and preparing forecasts, month-end close, and inventory audits. Cross-functional collaboration and SOX reviews are also part of the responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer applications.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain standard costs for inventoried parts and analyze inventory-related standard costs.
• Update cost systems to reflect factor and cost changes.
• Prepare delivery revenue and expense forecasts, including analysis of actual results.
• Prepare monthly journal entries, month-end analysis, account reconciliations, and related close activities.
• Develop and analyze monthly forecasts and budgets.
• Assist with inventory reconciliations and participate in physical inventory audits at manufacturing and offsite locations.
• Perform internal control and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) reviews and testing as assigned.
• Prepare ad hoc reports and analyses for senior management and provide general accounting support.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and accounting personnel across the organization.
