Job summary

Top Dog Recruiting is seeking a hands-on Tax Manager to own our income tax function and drive the quarterly and annual ASC 740 provision. You will lead a team of tax accountants, coordinate with external preparers and internal staff, and partner with auditors to ensure compliance and timely deliverables.

You will design and optimize tax processes, strengthen controls, and support related areas such as state and local taxes, notices, and tax planning opportunities.

Qualifications

• BS in Accounting or equivalent required.
• 6+ years of tax experience in public accounting or corporate setting.
• Strong federal, state, and local tax knowledge.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop tax accountants through coaching, supervision, and feedback.
• Own the quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provision.
• Oversee federal and state income tax return calculations and filings.
• Review FIN 48 and UNICAP positions.
• Respond to notices and inquiries from tax authorities.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors.
• Map and re-engineer tax processes to improve efficiency and controls.
