Job summary

Accounting Search is seeking a hands-on Tax Manager to own the income tax function. You will lead the tax provision for financial reporting and supervise tax staff and external preparers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

In this role you’ll drive process improvements, controls, and service levels across federal, state, and local taxes, while collaborating with internal and external auditors and management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 6+ years of tax experience in public accounting or corporate setting.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local taxes.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• CPA or Master's in Taxation a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop tax accountants through coaching, supervision, and feedback.
• Own the quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provision.
• Oversee federal and state income tax return calculations and filings.
• Review FIN 48 and UNICAP positions.
• Respond to notices and inquiries from taxing authorities.
• Work with internal and external auditors.
• Research tax information for management and outside parties.
• Support related taxes (sales, property, payroll, incentives).
• Map, document, and re-engineer tax processes to improve efficiency and controls.
