Job summary
Electrical Automation Services is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer for its Glendale, AZ facility. You will program and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs on high-speed beverage lines, acting as the on-shift controls expert to support operations, maintenance, and quality teams.
The role requires 4+ years in industrial automation, hands-on PLC programming experience, and the ability to work a 12-hour 2-2-3 day rotation.
Qualifications
- Hands-on PLC programming, not just troubleshooting.
- 4+ years of industrial automation experience on high-speed production lines.
- Experience with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix/CompactLogix in Studio 5000 / RSLogix 5000.
- Familiarity with EtherNet/IP, HMIs, servo/motion and industrial networks.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary on-shift controls and automation expert.
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for automated processing, filling, canning, conveying, and packaging equipment.
- Diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, instrumentation, motion-control, and industrial-network issues and restore production safely.
- Identify recurring equipment problems and implement permanent corrective actions including PLC/HMI changes.
- Develop and execute controls projects to improve safety, quality, reliability, and throughput.
- Participate in the Management of Change process for controls, equipment, and process modifications.
- Maintain PLC and HMI program backups, controls documentation, drawings, and change records.
- Support commissioning, upgrades, new installations, and system integration projects.
