Job summary

BW Design Group is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to join our Control System Integration Practice. You will work with industry experts to deliver high-quality automation solutions for leading manufacturers, from design through commissioning and start-up.

You will develop control system architectures, program PLCs, configure HMI/SCADA, and support project delivery while collaborating with clients and vendors. Travel for project requirements is expected.

Qualifications

• A track record of proficiency in control systems, troubleshooting, and high intensity environments.
• A minimum of 8 years of direct experience as a controls engineer working on automated processes/system integration in an industrial setting.
• Experience in engineering/consulting environment is preferred but not required.
• Advanced experience in automation controls systems (PLC, SCADA) and Ignition is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop automation solutions across design, software configuration, testing, and commissioning and start-up of various high-speed and other automated manufacturing processes.
• Design automation control systems and create project documentation and drawings to meet client requirements.
• Diagnose automation problems.
• Interface with teams, clients and vendors.
• Configure software and hardware packages according to client design specifications.
• Program PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Rockwell) as required.
• HMI/SCADAs (FactoryTalk, Cimplicity, Wonderware, Ignition programming).
• Communicate plan progress to project stakeholders.
• Manage engineering projects and project deliverables to schedule and scope.
• Manage site construction, installation and start-up activities.
• Validate and commission facility systems and ensure turnover to the customer.
• Make an impact day-to-day with your skills and expertise, strengthening relationships with clients and the team.
