Job summary

BW Design Group is seeking a Controls Engineer to join our Control System Integration Practice. You will work with a team of experts to develop automation solutions, design control systems, and support startup and turnover of complex projects for leading clients.

Responsibilities include programming PLCs/HMI, configuring hardware, diagnosing issues, and interfacing with clients and vendors. A two-year track record in industrial automation is desired, along with travel willingness and strong

Qualifications

Two years direct experience as a controls engineer in automated manufacturing/industrial environment.
A track record of proficiency in control systems, troubleshooting, and high-intensity environments.
Experience in designing automation control systems (PLC, SCADA).
Solid understanding of UL508A panel design and fabrication.
Solid understanding of instrumentation & control (I&C).
Solid understanding of engineering documentation (P&IDs, PFDs, SOPs).
Experience with field instrumentation, control system installation & configuration.
Familiarity with machine safety, power distribution, and control panel design.
Strong written/verbal technical communication; able to produce reports and present findings.
Willingness to travel for project requirements (installation, start-up, meetings).
Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, chemical engineering or similar technical field (preferred).

Responsibilities

Develop automation solutions and participate in design, software config, testing, commissioning, and startup of automated manufacturing processes.
Design automation control systems and create project documentation and drawings per client needs.
Diagnose automation problems.
Interface with teams, clients and vendors.
Configure software and hardware per client design specs.
Program PLCs and HMI/SCADAs; Siemens/DeltaV experience a plus.
Communicate plan progress to stakeholders.
Manage engineering projects and deliverables to schedule and scope.
Oversee site construction/installation and startup of integrated control systems.
Validate and commission facility systems and turnover to customer.
