Job summary

BW Design Group seeks a Controls Engineer to join our Control System Integration Practice. You will partner with leaders, technical specialists and clients to deliver high-quality automation solutions and drive project success.

You will design, program and commission control systems for automated manufacturing, while collaborating across teams and vendors to ensure on-time delivery and compliant documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years as a controls engineer in automated manufacturing.
• Experience designing automation controls systems (PLC, SCADA).
• Solid understanding of UL508A panel design and fabrication.
• Solid understanding of instrumentation and controls (I&C).
• Experience with field instrumentation, installation and configuration.
• Willingness to travel for project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop automation solutions and participate in design, software configuration, testing, commissioning and startup of high-speed manufacturing processes.
• Design automation control systems and create project documentation and drawings to meet client requirements.
• Diagnose automation problems and interface with teams, clients and vendors.
• Configure software and hardware packages according to client design specifications.
• Program PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Rockwell) and HMI/SCADA (FactoryTalk, Cimplicity, Wonderware, Ignition). Siemens and DeltaV experience is preferred.
• Communicate plan progress to project stakeholders.
• Manage engineering projects and deliverables to schedule and scope.
• Manage site construction, installation and startup activities.
• Validate and commission facility systems and turnover to the customer.
• Make an impact day-to-day with your skills and expertise, strengthening client relationships.
