Job summary

BW Design Group in Kansas City is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to design automation control systems, lead project execution, and support capital projects for manufacturing clients. You will work with Rockwell Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMI/SCADA, and automation software while traveling to client sites as needed.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or chemical engineering and 5–7 years of related experience in industrial automation.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5–7 years of related automation experience with HMI, SCADA, PLCs, and general control system design.
• Packaging and process controls experience in consumer products, life sciences, or beverage/food industries is preferred.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Design automation control systems; develop project specifications, documentation, and drawings for high-speed automated processes.
• Participate in automation project phases including software configuration, testing, commissioning, installation, and start-up.
• Lead project execution including team leadership, SCADA design, PLC/HMI programming, and site start-up support of integrated systems.
• Maintain and grow client relationships and troubleshoot packaging lines and process systems.
• Travel as required for project installation, start-up activities, and client meetings.
