Job summary
Stryten Energy is hiring a Controls Engineer for our fast-paced Kansas City plant. You will be the SME for Allen-Bradley PLC systems, creating and maintaining PLC programs and interfacing with equipment suppliers to ensure new machinery meets our strict controls standards.
You will work with 45 operations staff, report to the Maintenance and Engineering Manager, and apply lean principles to improve uptime, safety, and efficiency across two 20 ton/hour lines.
Qualifications
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 3+ years as an industrial controls engineer in plant operations.
- Ability to read, interpret, and create PLC programming (LD/FC/FBD/ST/IL).
- Experience with Allen Bradley hardware/software required.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain PLC programs.
- Specify, design, acquire and validate manufacturing equipment and tooling.
- Interface with suppliers and Operations to ensure new machinery meets standards.
- Standardize controls with factory engineers and technicians.
- Design electrical schematics and CAD drawings.
- Suggest control and programming modifications to reduce downtime and costs.
- Configure HMI systems.
- Develop electrical bill of materials for projects.
- Advise on OSHA compliance and safe operating procedures.
- Apply lean principles to projects.
