Job summary

Hire Consulting Services seeks a Controls Engineer to join a major manufacturing facility in the southwest Atlanta metro area. You will troubleshoot, program, and integrate equipment and automation systems in an Allen Bradley PLC environment, driving safety, efficiency, and uptime improvements.

Qualifications

• Four years of technical education or degree, or two years of technical education with related work experience.
• Prefer at least 5 years as a controls engineer, but will consider at least 2 years as a controls engineer.

Responsibilities

• Maintain relationships with Maintenance, Toolroom, Manufacturing Engineering, Technology Team, and Production to support operations and CI initiatives.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues on equipment from 24V to 480V, diagnose faults, and implement corrective actions.
• Provide controls engineering expertise across projects including specification, electrical design, PLC/HMI programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Lead projects by coordinating activities, timelines, and requirements with internal teams and external contractors.
• Prepare and maintain technical reports, FAT, and documentation of controls activities.
• Ensure compliance with OHSA and internal EHS standards.
• Design modifications to electrical circuitry and improve efficiency, safety, or maintainability.
• Utilize AutoCAD/EPLAN to create and maintain electrical schematics and docs.
