Job summary

Amtec Staffing is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to support production and maintenance teams at Detroit Engine and Axle facilities. You will troubleshoot PLC/HMI systems, design control solutions, and maintain thorough documentation to uphold safety and performance.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical/Controls and 5–7 years in industrial automation, with Siemens PLC experience and knowledge of CAD tools.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems or related field.
5–7 years of controls engineering/industrial automation experience.
Experience with Siemens PLC and HMI programming.
Familiarity with Kuka positioning and CAD tools.

Responsibilities

Direct production line support of controls logic with Siemens PLCs and NC programming.
Design and implement control systems for industrial equipment and automation processes.
Implement and support PLC, CNC & HMI hardware/software.
Configure sensors/actuators and integrate control devices.
Troubleshoot and debug to ensure proper functionality.
Collaborate with mechanical/electrical teams to integrate control solutions.
Maintain control system documentation and wiring diagrams.
Ensure safety standards and regulatory compliance in designs.
Provide technical training to maintenance/operations teams.
