Job summary

Jing-Jin Electric North America, LLC in Michigan is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to support and improve automated manufacturing systems. You will troubleshoot PLCs, modify programs, and develop new machine functionality in a fast-paced production environment.

The role requires hands-on Siemens TIA Portal/PLC and HMI experience, plus familiarity with industrial networks, robotics, RFID, vision systems, and integration of fastening controllers. Occasional overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Controls engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years Siemens TIA Portal/PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Siemens S7-1200/S7-1500 PLCs.
• Experience developing and modifying Siemens HMI/WinCC screens and functions.
• Ability to troubleshoot and modify industrial automation systems.
• Strong knowledge of industrial networking, Ethernet, and PROFINET.
• Ability to troubleshoot network communication between PLCs, HMIs, robots, scanners, vision systems, fastening controllers, and other automation devices.
• Experience with MES and production traceability systems.
• Familiarity with KUKA robots and RFID systems.
• Experience integrating vision systems, scanners, fastening controllers, servo systems, and other automation equipment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and identify root causes of controls-related issues.
• Modify and develop PLC programs to engineering standards.
• Develop and modify HMI screens and controls.
• Configure and maintain industrial Ethernet/PROFINET networks.
• Support production trials, start-up, commissioning, and validation of equipment.
• Integrate new equipment and fixtures into automation systems.
• Diagnose and fix HMI/PLC communication issues.
• Review and improve PLC programs, HMIs, and automation sequences.
• Identify opportunities to improve reliability, cycle time, and productivity.
• Provide timely technical support to minimize downtime.
