Job summary

Vast.ai is hiring a senior finance leader to own accounting and finance operations from GAAP to audit readiness. You will partner with the COO, external advisors, and product teams to design scalable, automation-first processes for high‑volume AI compute marketplaces.

In this on-site role in Los Angeles, you will lead monthly closes, revenue accounting, tax, and system implementations while building a team as needs grow. CPA required; equity is available.

Qualifications

• Active CPA with strong GAAP experience and audit readiness.
• 8+ years in accounting/finance with senior leadership exposure.
• Private company experience in high-growth environments preferred.
• Marketplace/usage-based or fintech exposure is a plus.
• Experience owning monthly close, reconciliations, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead GAAP conversion and prepare for first audit with external advisors.
• Own monthly close, AR/AP, payroll, reconciliations, and workflows.
• Build revenue accounting for marketplace transactions and ASC 606.
• Design payout controls and reconcile GL data across systems.
• Lead tax compliance with external specialists and internal teams.
• Stand up finance stack: ERP, billing, payouts, payroll, reporting.
• Own financial reporting, budgeting, forecast, and board reporting.
• Partner with product/engineering to translate product logic into accounting policies.
• Plan roadmap to hire and automate accounting ops as the company scales.
