Job summary

Vast.ai, a leading AI compute marketplace, seeks a senior finance leader to own accounting and finance operations from GAAP conversion to scalable, automated processes. You will partner with the COO, fractional CFO, and external advisors to build controls, policies, and a high‑growth finance function.

You will drive monthly close, revenue accounting, tax, and systems enhancements, while shaping a roadmap for a future finance team that scales with the business.

Qualifications

• CPA in good standing with strong GAAP experience.
• 8+ years in accounting and finance; 2+ years in senior leadership.
• Hands-on with monthly close, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Experience with marketplace/usage-based models preferred.
• Knowledge of ASC 606, revenue recognition, and payouts.

Responsibilities

• Lead GAAP conversion and audit readiness with external advisors.
• Own the monthly close, AR/AP, payroll, reconciliations, and workflows.
• Own accounting for marketplace revenue and ASC 606 analysis.
• Design payout controls and reconcile billing, payments, and GL data.
• Lead tax/compliance with external specialists and internal teams.
• Stand up or improve finance systems stack and reporting.
• Own financial reporting, forecast inputs, and budgeting.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to translate product logic into policies.
• Build and lead the future finance team roadmap.
