Job summary

Odyssey, Palo Alto-based AI lab, seeks a Controller to build and lead the accounting function as we scale. You will own close, GAAP reporting, audit management, policy, and controls, while designing processes and systems to support rapid growth. Collaborate with FP&A and leadership on forecasting and board reporting.

You will lead a high-performing accounting organization, support financings and strategic transactions, and ensure compliance and readiness for future growth and potential IPO.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibility.
• Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior accounting leader in a high-growth tech company.
• Deep command of U.S. GAAP and complex accounting judgments.
• Led audits and ensured high-quality financial reporting and controls.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close with timely, accurate reporting.
• Own accounting policy and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Lead external audit and manage auditors, tax advisors, and accounting partners.
• Build scalable accounting processes, policies, controls, and reporting from the ground up.
• Develop financial systems architecture including COA, cost centers, project accounting, procurement, payroll.
• Manage multi-entity, high-value commitments and complex accounting areas, including leases and revenue.
