Job summary

Outmarket AI, an AI-powered platform for commercial insurance, is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager / Controller to own close, controls, and reporting infrastructure as the company scales from startup to category leader.

You will report to the Head of Finance & Strategy, build the accounting function from the ground up, automate workflows, and partner with leadership to drive data-driven decisions in a fast-growing, remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
• 5–10+ years in progressive accounting roles, including SaaS experience.
• Strong command of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls (ASC 606).
• Experience managing month-end close and audits.
• Ability to build automated financial models and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and year-end close with GAAP-compliant financials.
• Maintain a scalable general ledger and account coding framework.
• Oversee end-to-end AP/AR, invoicing, collections, and expense management.
• Manage tax compliance and liaise with external auditors/partners.
• Define and own the AI-native finance tool stack and automation opportunities.
• Hire and mentor the accounting team as the function scales.
