Job summary

Stanley Consultants is an award-winning global engineering firm seeking a Principal Control Systems Engineer. You will lead complex projects across power, municipal water, and industrial automation, focusing on DCS/PLC design and instrumentation.

The role requires a PE, a BSEE, and 12+ years in control systems, with strong leadership, communication, and client-facing capabilities. Hybrid work options apply at multiple locations including Austin, TX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from ABET-accredited university.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.
• Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in control systems engineering.
• Extensive experience with DCS and PLC design, implementation, and commissioning.
• Proven track record leading complex control systems projects from concept through commissioning.
• Experience with municipal, industrial, and power generation control systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical leadership and design for complex control systems projects.
• Evaluate existing systems and design plant control/instrumentation for DCS/PLC.
• Develop innovative control system architectures and significant design changes.
• Prepare documents: reports, specifications, drawings, P&IDs, I/O lists.
• Coordinate with clients and site teams during installation and commissioning.
• Support bid evaluation, estimating, and proposal development.
