Job summary

Stanley Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Principal Control Systems Engineer to lead control system design, development, and deployment across multiple industries. This hybrid role supports projects from Minneapolis, MN, with options for other locations, leveraging DCS/PLC expertise and strong client communication.

The successful candidate will drive technical leadership, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust control solutions and project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an ABET accredited university.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.
• Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in control systems engineering.
• Extensive experience with DCS and PLC design, implementation, and commissioning.
• Demonstrated track record of leading complex control systems projects from concept through commissioning.
• Experience with municipal, industrial, and power generation control systems applications.

Responsibilities

• Interpret, organize, and coordinate complex control systems engineering assignments impacting projects.
• Lead technical responsibility for evaluation and design of plant control and instrumentation systems including DCS and PLC.
• Develop concepts for control system architectures and recommend design changes to improve outcomes.
• Prepare technical documents: reports, specs, drawings, I/O lists, data sheets, schedules.
• Determine client requirements and create comprehensive control system documentation.
