Job summary

Stanley Consultants, a global engineering firm, seeks a Principal Control Systems Engineer to lead complex control projects across power, water, and industrial facilities. You will drive design, instrumentation, and automation strategies for DCS/PLC-based systems and provide technical leadership to multidisciplinary teams.

The role requires a PE license, a BSEE from an ABET program, and 12+ years of experience in control systems engineering, with strong communication skills and a proven record

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an ABET accredited university
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required
• Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in control systems engineering
• Extensive experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) design, implementation, and commissioning
• Demonstrated track record of successfully leading complex control systems projects from concept through commissioning
• Experience with municipal, industrial, and power generation control systems applications

Responsibilities

• Interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate complex control systems engineering assignments with significant project impact
• Lead technical responsibility for evaluation of existing systems and design of plant control and instrumentation systems for diverse applications including DCS and PLC
• Develop innovative concepts for control system architectures and recommend significant design changes
• Prepare comprehensive technical documents: reports, specifications, drawings, P&IDs, I/O lists, data sheets, schedules
• Evaluate need for design changes and make recommendations based on analysis and project requirements
• Sign and seal plans and reports in accordance with professional standards and regulations
• Maintain adherence to Stanley Consultants QA/QC standards
