Job summary

Stanley Consultants seeks a Principal Control Systems Engineer to lead advanced control systems projects across utilities, municipal, and industrial sectors. You will guide DCS/PLC design, instrument data sheets, and regulatory compliant documentation.

The role requires PE licensure, a BSEE from ABET-accredited university, and 12+ years of experience, with proven leadership and client-facing skills. This hybrid position offers opportunities to influence large-scale infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited university.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.
Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in control systems engineering.
Extensive experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) design, implementation, and commissioning.
Experience with municipal, industrial, and power generation control systems applications.
Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Lead complex control systems engineering assignments with significant project impact.
Oversee evaluation of existing systems and design of DCS/PLC for diverse applications.
Develop concepts for control system architectures and recommend design changes to improve outcomes.
Prepare technical documents including reports, drawings, P&IDs, data sheets, and schedules.
Sign and seal control systems plans per professional standards.
Maintain Stanley Consultants QA/QC standards.
Serve as primary technical liaison with clients on projects.
Plan and allocate resources for the control systems organization.
Participate in bid evaluation, construction support, and commissioning activities.
Engage with site teams on constructability and scheduling.
Lead client meetings to discuss project specifics and system performance.
Assist in pricing, estimating, and scoping for proposed control projects.
Develop detailed proposals with scope of work and fee estimates.
Identify opportunities for enhanced control system solutions.
