Job summary

Trane Technologies, a leader in climate solutions, seeks a Senior Control Systems Engineer in Minnesota. You will guide global controller developments for transport refrigeration and APU systems, collaborating across product, software, and hardware teams to translate requirements into robust designs.

You will drive development with Phase Gate and Agile methods, ensuring performance and quality for customers, and partnering with offshore teams as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Preferred experience as a system engineer.
• Understanding of refrigeration, transportation, off-road agricultural, construction or HVAC equipment is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with embedded controller development lifecycle is a plus.
• Experience with Agile in a product development culture and offshore development groups.

Responsibilities

• Provide global control system engineering support of transport refrigeration units and auxiliary power units.
• Coordinate internal and external efforts for electronics and software design projects to ensure requirements are captured and milestones met.
• Partner with product management, project management and platform teams to ensure new products perform as required.
• Develop and improve information communication process flow and tools throughout the new product development process.
• Lead the assurance that technical performance meets system platform requirements.
• Develop cross-functional leadership and beneficial relationships with stakeholders.
• Lead lifecycle projects to update product performance.
• Conduct feasibility studies and ideation events with cross-functional teams for refrigeration technology.
• Identify new technologies and products applicable to refrigeration systems.
• Maintain and develop product development tools to improve development, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Work with development teams to ensure integration of key FMEA and Design for Service and Testability.
