Job summary

Voyager Technologies, based in El Segundo, CA, seeks an experienced Contract Specialist to lead US government contracts, assess FAR/DFARS terms, and guide negotiations. You will manage risk, coordinate with Legal, Finance, and Compliance, and ensure smooth contract closeouts across multi-site operations.

The role requires strong communication, negotiation, and leadership, with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance. Onsite in California, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years highly dynamic role in a technology, defense, or aerospace/space company.
• Experience with managing Government contracts under FAR and DFARS
• Experience in the development of proposals, proposal cost structure, performance requirements, delivery schedules, and negotiations
• Demonstrated ability to shape results in support of objectives, including ability to communicate and influence executive leadership
• Excellent communication skills and proven ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with complex customer
• Detail oriented and data-driven
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic advice and guidance on contractual rights/obligations, regulations, and policy/procedure to mitigate risks.
• Partner with Finance leadership to ensure financial targets are met by securing contract awards and negotiating terms.
• Develop and implement contract strategies aligned with Voyager's imperatives.
• Coordinate with Legal, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance and Compliance for vetting contracting activities.
• Ensure each contract and proposal action is reviewed and approved per Delegation of Authority.
• Maintain customer relationships and drive constructive interactions.
• Lead contract management activities and negotiations; assess terms to protect company risks and financial goals.
• Represent executive leadership with recommendations aligned to Voyager strategy.
• Coordinate with legal and risk management to resolve key business issues.
• Handle contract closeouts and interface with Supply Chain on contracting requirements.
