Job summary

Arch Insurance Group Inc. seeks an Assistant Vice President of Contract Surety to lead underwriting and strategic management for a defined territory. The role focuses on profitable growth, market relations, and disciplined underwriting practices to strengthen portfolio performance.

You will collaborate with leadership to develop strategies, oversee agency management, and drive new business while maintaining Arch’s standards and profitability objectives.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in the Surety industry with underwriting and portfolio management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Management, or related field.
• AFSB designation preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze information to evaluate credit quality and risk acceptability.
• Develop and manage a book of business, aiming for profitability and growth.
• Meet with principals to assess management and objectives with regional leadership involvement.
• Prepare underwriting submissions and make recommendations within authority.
• Engage with agents, brokers, CPAs, bankers, lawyers and engineers as needed for underwriting detail.
