Arch Insurance Group Inc. seeks an Assistant Vice President for Contract Surety to drive profitable growth and underwriting leadership across an assigned territory.

You will oversee a complex portfolio of Contract Surety accounts, applying disciplined underwriting practices, and spearheading business development with agencies to expand market presence. You will foster strong market relationships with agents, brokers, and clients, while collaborating with divisional leadership to execute

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Management, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in the Surety industry with demonstrated underwriting and portfolio management.
• AFSB designation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze information to underwrite risks and assess credit quality and acceptability.
• Prepare and conduct marketing activities within the territory; manage producers and premiums.
• Build and manage a book of business; meet profitability objectives; grow strategic relationships.
• Meet with principal owners to assess management acumen and objectives with branch involvement as needed.
• Monitor accounts to ensure compliance with Arch standards; recommend corrective actions as needed.
• Correspond with CPAs, bankers, lawyers, and other professionals to obtain underwriting detail.
• Prepare underwriting submissions and make recommendations within authority.
