Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking a Professional Surveyor to lead planning, coordination, and execution of surveying activities for construction projects. You will deliver precise layout, grade control, data management, and as-built documentation to ensure adherence to design plans, specifications, and tolerances.

The role collaborates with Project Managers, Superintendents, engineers, and field personnel to maintain quality and productivity.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or related field preferred.
• Professional Surveyor (PS/PLS) license preferred or ability to obtain licensure.
• 3–5 years of construction surveying experience on heavy civil or site work.
• Proficiency with Total Stations, GNSS/GPS equipment, robotic survey systems, and data collectors.
• Experience with survey software, CAD, machine control, and DTMs.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction layout and staking for utilities, grading, structures, roadways, and site development.
• Establish, verify, and maintain project survey control, benchmarks, and reference points.
• Provide accurate grade control for excavation, embankment, and fine grading activities.
• Support GPS machine control systems, including setup, calibration, troubleshooting, and model deployment.
• Develop and update digital terrain models (DTMs), alignments, and survey data files.
• Verify construction work for compliance with plans, specs, elevations, and tolerances.
• Conduct as-built surveys and maintain records for project documentation and closeout.
• Assist project teams with quantity calculations, pay quantities, change orders, and progress tracking.
