Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to work under the Site Superintendent and in partnership with the Project Manager to develop, manage, and complete a job plan for assigned projects in Hawaii.

The role is on-site primarily, with potential travel across Hawaii. You will review plans, develop schedules, procure tools and labor, coordinate with architects and owners, and monitor progress to ensure work meets specifications and schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in construction management or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in construction management.
• Experience overseeing commercial, industrial, and/or multifamily projects from conception to completion.
• Knowledge of construction processes and building codes/blueprints.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel within Hawaii.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and specifications to understand job requirements.
• Develop job plan including schedule, access, manpower, and building requirements.
• Procure tools, labor, and some materials.
• Coordinate with architects and owners to resolve issues.
• Monitor progress and adjust schedules and resources as needed.
• Enforce safety policies and report hazards to supervisors.
• Track additional work tickets, change orders, and back charges as necessary.
• Assist in developing the Project Management Plan.
