Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a seasoned Quality Manager II to oversee a major project’s quality control program. You will lead field inspectors, write the project QC plan, and interact with the owner's QA rep, ensuring all test results and NCRs are addressed with data-driven responses.

Your role involves coordinating labs, approving mix designs, and guiding subcontractors through QC processes on heavy-civil, industrial, or federal programs. Travel to active sites is required.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in construction quality control or special inspection, including 2+ years supervising inspectors.
• USACE CQM-C certificate plus ICC special inspector or NICET Level III certification.
• Experience on USACE, NAVFAC, DOT, or industrial owner quality programs.
• Writes clearly and holds the line in a room of superintendents and owner representatives.

Responsibilities

• Write and maintain the project quality control plan and get it accepted by the owner or agency.
• Lead preparatory, initial, and follow-up phase meetings for every definable feature of work.
• Supervise QC inspectors and testing technicians.
• assign daily coverage and review their reports.
• Run the nonconformance and corrective-action process and present it in owner QA/QC meetings.
• Coordinate laboratory testing, mix design approvals, and material certifications across subcontractors.
