Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Senior Construction Project Manager to lead sophisticated controls construction projects with budgets over $5 million. You will be on-site, directing cross-disciplinary teams and guiding vendor selection, value engineering, and risk assessment to meet client expectations.

Responsibilities include maintaining budgetary control, cash flow, and schedule adherence while ensuring safety and compliance. A PMI/PMP within two years is preferred, with travel as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Eng, Construction Management, or Architecture; or an assoc degree with equivalent experience.
• Experience on large construction projects valued >$5M.
• Experience with Mechanical Retrofits, HVAC controls, BAS, Fire and Security management is advantageous.
• 8+ years direct PM experience in the building construction industry.
• PMI/PMP certification within two years of employment.
• Strong verbal and written communication; able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Proficiency in project management software and financial accounting systems.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Adobe Writer, Visio, and Windows.
• Flexibility to travel as required by project assignments.
• Capability to manage complex projects involving multiple subcontractors and scopes of work.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site project execution for complex construction programs.
• Oversee budgets, change orders, and client/vendor coordination.
• Ensure schedule adherence, safety compliance, and quality delivery.
• Manage costs, billing, and collections to ensure profitability.
• Communicate progress and financial status to management.
• Coordinate with internal teams to allocate resources effectively.
• Develop vendor relationships and oversee commissioning activities.
