Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Senior Major Projects Project Manager to lead significant HVAC Controls construction projects in the Indiana market. You will drive profitable execution, manage schedules, budgets, and change orders, and coordinate with sales, installation, and engineering teams to deliver high-value projects.

This role requires five years of PM experience in construction, strong communication, and proficiency with MS Project and financial systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of direct project management experience in the Building Construction industry.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey technical material to a non-technical audience.
• Travel will vary based on project assignments; some projects may be outside the assigned geography.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project Scheduling software and financial accounting systems; strong PC skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).

Responsibilities

• Lead major HVAC Controls construction projects valued at $2M+ in the Indiana market.
• Coordinate with Owner and contractor sales managers, branch installation managers, and other teams.
• Ensure accurate, timely billing; manage budget, scope, and change orders to maintain cash flow.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, cost estimates, and proposals; negotiate final settlements.
• Ensure compliance with contract terms, safety standards, and project documentation controls.
• Foster long-term relationships with customers, consultants, and subcontractors; attend progress meetings.
