Job summary

Amazon seeks a Sr. Construction Manager within Global Engineering Services NA Design & Construction to independently deliver complex construction projects for Amazon's logistics network. You will own design oversight, external partner selection, and contracts, while mentoring other managers and interfacing with Directors and VPs.

You will travel up to 60% regionally and work from a corporate office when not on-site, ensuring safety, schedule, and budget goals are met across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience as an Architect, Engineer, Construction Manager, or in a related construction discipline.
• 7+ years of project management experience spanning design phase through construction completion and operational handover.
• 7+ years of experience negotiating construction, procurement, and/or labor contracts.
• 7+ years of proficiency with AutoCAD and/or BIM, and scheduling software (Primavera, MS Project, or similar).
• Position includes travel up to 60% (Nationwide). Travel involves air travel to regional airports and driving to site locations. A valid driver's license is required due to project assignments in areas with limited public transportation and rideshare options.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end project management for complex construction projects.
• Serve as Amazon's senior owner's representative coordinating between construction, design and internal stakeholders.
• Develop project strategies and allocate resources to execute strategies.
• Oversee design and engineering, including design evaluations, conformance reviews and value engineering.
• Monitor project performance metrics, anticipate roadblocks and manage escalations.
• Resolve complex issues and defend trade-offs to stakeholders.
• Assess KPIs for safety, quality, cost, schedule and sustainability; set targets.
• Mentor and develop other construction managers; recruit where needed.
