Job summary

WSP is seeking a Full-Time Inspector for its Syracuse, NY field office to join the Construction Management Team. The role involves inspecting multi-trade contracts, ensuring conformance with contract requirements, and supporting project delivery in Cortland as needed.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, 9+ years in construction with supervision, and 4+ years as a Construction Inspector on large-scale projects. Strong communication, leadership, and safety performance are essential.

Qualifications

High School Diploma is required.
9+ years of relevant experience on multi-phase large-scale building/rehabilitation projects, including supervision.
4+ years’ experience as a Construction Inspector, including site/civil work.
Strong communication and collaborative skills with clients and contractors.
Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.
Proven safety track record and adherence to policies.
Ability to work schedules that may extend beyond a typical workweek.
Occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

Provide construction management inspection for multi-trade contracts to ensure conformance with contract requirements.
Ensure timely decisions to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
Perform inspections, prepare construction reports and expedite execution of contracts and supervise inspectors.
Maintain a written daily log of project progress, actions performed, workforce, materials approvals and deliveries.
Identify and resolve problems, conduct meetings and communicate with team members in various roles.
Monitor contractor safety operations and coordinate with safety manager.
Uphold ethics and company policies regarding funds and conduct.
