Job summary

WSP in Syracuse, NY is seeking a Full-Time Assistant Superintendent/Inspector to join our Construction Management Team. The role involves coordinating multi-trade inspections and ensuring projects meet contract requirements across phases.

You will monitor quality, track progress, maintain daily logs, coordinate with safety officers, and travel as needed to site locations. OSHA-30 certification and strong leadership are highly valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Minimum 5 years of construction management experience with multi-phase projects, including supervision.
• Ability to develop and communicate a project work plan, monitor manpower and performance, and coordinate trades.
• Strong communication and collaborative approach with client and contractors.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
• OSHA-30 certification.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• Ability to work beyond typical workweeks when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide construction management inspection for multi-trade contracts to ensure conformance with contract requirements.
• Monitor work and materials to ensure quality control standards and coordinate with Regional Code Officer.
• Ensure timely decisions to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
• Perform inspections, prepare construction reports and expedite execution of contracts while supervising inspectors.
• Maintain a written daily log of project progress, actions performed, contractor's workforce, materials approvals and deliveries and issues on site.
• Identify and resolve problems and conflicts, conduct meetings and communicate with team members as necessary.
• Monitor contractor safety operations and coordinate with Regional Safety Manager as needed.
• Travel may be required.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
