Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Full-Time Inspector for our Syracuse, NY Field Office, with other locations including Cortland. You will join our Construction Management Team to inspect multi-trade contracts and ensure conformance with contract requirements.

The position requires 9+ years of relevant experience, including 4+ years as a Construction Inspector, with strong communication, leadership and safety focus. Occasional travel may be needed to support project needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum 9 years of relevant experience in multi-phase building projects.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Construction Inspector including site/civil work.
• Strong communications skills and collaborative approach with clients and contractors.
• Interpersonal and leadership skills with safety focus.
• Ability to work schedules beyond the typical workweek and occasional travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide construction management inspection for multi-trade contracts to ensure conformance with contract requirements.
• Ensure timely decisions to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
• Perform inspections, prepare construction reports and expedite contract execution.
• Maintain written daily log of progress, workforce, materials and deliveries.
• Identify and resolve problems, conduct meetings and communicate with team members.
• Monitor contractor safety operations and coordinate with Regional Safety Manager.
• Exercise ethical decision-making regarding company funds and conduct.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required.
