Job summary

WSP is seeking a Full-Time Inspector for its Syracuse, NY field office to join the Construction Management Team. The role involves inspecting multi-trade contracts, ensuring conformance with contract requirements, and supporting project delivery in Cortland as needed.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, 9+ years in construction with supervision, and 4+ years as a Construction Inspector on large-scale projects. Strong communication, leadership, and safety performance are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• 9+ years of relevant experience on multi-phase large-scale building/rehabilitation projects, including supervision.
• 4+ years’ experience as a Construction Inspector, including site/civil work.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills with clients and contractors.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.
• Proven safety track record and adherence to policies.
• Ability to work schedules that may extend beyond a typical workweek.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide construction management inspection for multi-trade contracts to ensure conformance with contract requirements.
• Ensure timely decisions to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
• Perform inspections, prepare construction reports and expedite execution of contracts and supervise inspectors.
• Maintain a written daily log of project progress, actions performed, workforce, materials approvals and deliveries.
• Identify and resolve problems, conduct meetings and communicate with team members in various roles.
• Monitor contractor safety operations and coordinate with safety manager.
• Uphold ethics and company policies regarding funds and conduct.

Your Impact

• Provide construction management inspection formulti-tradecontracts to ensure the project is constructed inconformancewith the contract requirements.
• Ensuring thattimelydecisions are made to keep projects on schedule and within budgeted costs while meeting clients' needs.
• Perform inspections,prepare constructionreportsand expedite the execution of contractsand supervise inspectors.
• Maintaina written daily log of project progress, actions performed, contractor's workforce, materials approvals and deliveries and issues on the job site.
• Identifyand resolve problems and conflicts, conductmeetingsand communicate with team members in variousrolesas necessary.
• Monitor contractor safety operations and coordinate with Regional Safety Manager as needed.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Minimum of (9) years of relevant experience, with a minimum (6) years of experience in construction involving multiple phases of large-scale building/rehabilitation projects, including supervision.
• Minimum(4)years’ experienceas a Construction Inspector, including g site/civil work.
• Strong communications skills and a collaborative approach working with both client and construction contractor/subcontractors.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
• Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
• Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Compensation:

Expected Rate (all locations): $38.51 - $52.26
