Job summary

C&S Companies is seeking experienced Inspectors for construction/transportation inspection services across NY state locations, including Syracuse and surrounding areas. Responsibilities include assisting the EIC, reviewing inspections, and preparing change orders for various projects in bridge, roadway, rail, and intersection work.

Qualifications

• 10 years of related experience in construction field and transportation projects.
• NICET III or EIT designation or equivalent.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred; Associate's Degree acceptable with relevant experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to supervise or coordinate the work of others.
• Knowledge of NYSDOT’s Equitable Business Opportunities (EBO) software.
• Knowledge of Site Manager or Appia for construction project administration.

Responsibilities

• Assist the EIC/Resident Engineer on daily management of construction inspection projects.
• Review daily inspection reports and payment quantities per NYSDOT/MURK requirements.
• Prepare change orders for overruns, changed conditions, and additional work.
• Adhere to corporate policies and safety requirements; communicate incidents and hazards to supervisor or Safety Department.
