Job summary

Travelers Insurance Company is seeking a Sr Technical Specialist, Specialty Liability, to manage and investigate complex construction defect property damage claims. You will determine coverage, evaluate liability, assess damages, establish reserves, and issue payments within authority.

The role requires advanced claims management, negotiation, and collaboration with counsel. You will mentor claim professionals, support high-value claims, and adapt to new tech and AI tools while maintaining

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree; four years of construction defect/property damage and litigation experience.
• Active adjuster license, where required by state law.
• Experience with claims management systems and enterprise technology platforms (e.g., Microsoft Office).
• Excellent verbal and written communication with ability to synthesize complex information for stakeholders.
• Ability to analyze complex situations, exercise sound judgement, and make independent decisions.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage an active caseload of construction defect property damage claims and litigation from first notice to resolution.
• Gather and investigate information to determine coverage, liability, and reserves.
• Provide timely, professional communication to customers, counsel, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Develop and execute advanced resolution strategies and coordinate resources for investigations.
• Partner with Counsel on litigation management strategies.
• Manage multi-party negotiations to achieve optimal resolutions within authority.
• Maintain accurate claim records in management systems.
• Identify opportunities to improve best practices and processes.
